You learn about all sorts of things! I love psychology because it’s so very diverse, during an undergraduate degree you spend the first two years learning the same thing as everyone else, like child development (how we grow from babies and how we learn), social psychology (what makes us different from animals and all the things related to how we interact with other people), the basics of the brain (what bit is where and what does it do), and statistics to you can understand experiments. In your third year you choose the things you like best so specialise in, like exactly how to brain works a bit like a computer called computational neuroscience or cognition, you can learn specifically about clinical problems like depression or schizophrenia, or even what happens in brain damage.
