      Hi,

Good question. My favourite part of my job is knowing that my work will help people who suffer from dementia and have poor memory. If we can improve their memory this could not only cause them a lot less stress during their daily routine but also keep them safe if we can help them remember their way home and stop them getting lost, especially in new places that can be very confusing to someone with dementia. That’s why I love my job, knowing that it has practical implications being able to help people in real world and not just the lab.

Hi, I think mine is quite a selfish answer! I like having a job that allows me to ask questions that interest me, as long as I can find funding then I can research loads of things. I also really enjoy talking academics and getting to go to conferences to listen to what other people have learnt.

      Hi oscar!

My favourite part is running experiments and asking questions nobody has ever thought of before. I don’t get to blow things up sadly, but I’ve had a chance to play with some pretty cool technology like MRI machines, and even dissected human brains! I wouldn’t have had a chance to do any of these things unless my job was being a scientist and a researcher.

I also love talking about science and one of my favourite things is teaching students some of their classes, so that I can help them become scientists and researchers too.

The favourite part of my job is regularly getting to interact with animals and watching them figure out how the world works. There aren’t many jobs that pay you for doing that. I also get to go out into the countryside every now and again during the field season (April-May time). It’s sooooo nice to be out and about on a spring day in the Northumberland countryside (it absolutely beats sitting at a desk).
