• Question: what is the thing that you want to be able to discover most?(cure4cancer etc.)

      Hi 1lladams

      For me this is quite a personal idea, and one I can’t actually probably achieve, I’ll explain why. My nephew is severely autistic, he was born a few years after I started studying psychology so I understood the idea of autism well and some of the potential reasons behind it. Obviously, since then I have been very interested in autism and the ideas behind why it happens how it might be helped and all sorts – but my own discipline and the experiments I perform are not necessarily helpful for understanding autism. So while I wish that I could discover the reasons behind it and perhaps a way to test for it before birth, I’m not in a position to do so. I do, however, feel very comforted by being a scientist in a community of people who I trust deeply to do that task for me.
