Diabetes occurs when the body doesn’t have enough insulin, this means it can’t turn the glucose into fuel for the body’s cells. There are two main types of diabetes; type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is where the body can’t produce insulin, Type 2 is where the body doesn’t produce enough, or the insulin isn’t very good. Type 1 is normally seen from birth but Type 2 tends to occur later in life, and more often in overweight people. The BBC health site has a good website which tells you about diabetes and some of the methods used to control it.:

      Hey emokid!

I think Susie has this covered! Diabetes it becoming a more common problem unfortunately, and many people think it’s because our diets are becoming loaded with processed and high-sugar foods that are very bad for us. You can help avoid developing diabetes by eating healthily and not eating too much sugar, which sounds boring but in the long term it’s a much better idea!
