I’m interested in the brain in general, I’m a psychologist because I like to ask questions about humans and their experiences. In particular I’m interested in learning and knowledge. In my free time i’m interested in case studies of where the brain has gone wrong, in particular I really like to read books by Oliver Sacks, such as the one about the man who mistook his wife for a hat – this is about case studies of people who have problems recognising faces!

      HI neve

I’m most interested in what happens in the brain when things go wrong, that sounds a little morbid but it’s the way we understand how the brain works. If, for example, there are a few centimetres of damage in a particular part of the brain then it could mean that someone loses the ability to walk, to speak or even recognise faces – while all the rest of their abilities remain.

I think this is amazing, and moreso that the brain can also regrow some damaged parts to take over some functions that have been lost is just incredible. The brain is incredibly complex so I don’t think I’ll ever run out of things to study!
