      Lots of things can cause brain malfunction like brain damage in an accident, or being born with problems in the brain, even as we age the brain cells breakdown naturally causing senility and even dementia.

      Depending on where the damage is you can get different kinds of malfunction, for example, damaging the back middle left side of your brain means you couldn’t understand language anymore even though you speak just fine (because the part responsible for speaking is in a diffeent place).
