For me my greatest achievement has got to be getting here, it’s taken a long time, a lot of hard work and a lot of moving around to be a brain scientist and I’m very proud of where I’ve gotten to. My school wasn’t so great and I didn’t have the best grades but I worked really hard and got to be a brain scientist, it’s very rewarding and I’m happy with that 🙂 otherwise I’d say it’s probably the work I’ve done in schools. I love my work in my job but I love getting out into schools and speaking to students about the brain and getting them excited about science.
Like Jen, I think getting to the stage in my career where I could actually choose a number of different paths to take, all which could be considered `successful’. Thinking back, I never worked very hard at school etc. and so recently I’ve had to work even harder in order to keep on top of everything, something that I regret these days, as it’s a lot easier to work hard to start with, and then just keep everything ticking over at the same kind of pace later on.
