That’s a very difficult question — personally I think science and sport go hand-in-hand, which is why I’m out on my bike so much, but I think I would have to choose science (mainly because I’m not a good enough cyclist to make a career out of it!)

I don’t think you can choose one over the other, both are very important and contribute to each other in every day life. Without science and the technology that comes with it we couldn’t have trained some of our best athletes so well. There’s also scientific research that shows that exercise and sports are actually one of the best ways to delay the onset of dementia on old age!

I’m going to cheat. I would ban sport while I was at work doing science, then I would ban science once the day’s work had finished and only sport would be allowed. Then I’d still get to play volleyball and watch cricket.

Actually that’d be a much better way of the world working for me: there wouldn’t be any distracting cricket on when I was trying to work in the day (like when England play cricket in India).

As the others have said these two are actually quite closely linked, and if you banned one what would Sports Scientists do!

That’s a really tough question! It’s hard to choose but I’d probably choose science as I get paid for being a scientist and nor for playing sports!
