• Question: I am looking to become a fishmonger just like you. Do you have any tips?

      Hi ss123!

      This was actually my very first job when I was 15! I didn’t do anything particular to get the job as far as I can remember, I wanted to start working and they had some spaces because it was Christmas. I asked if I could start working and they just took me on, I ended up working for them for almost a year. My advice is to go to speak to a fishmonger you’d like to work for and ask them to start working for them a day a week so you can learn what your need. After that if its still something you want to do and you’re good at it they should offer you more time there.

      I really liked this job, I met a lot of different people every day and it taught me how to deal with fresh food and how to cook it, it’s actually a really pleasant job! I hope this helps 🙂
