Hey guys  🙂

A very big thank you to all the students who took part and all those that voted in the Brain Zone! You guys asked some really interesting and sometimes unexpected questions, I’m glad you all thought my answers were up to scratch and I’m very proud to have been voted the winner! All of the scientists in the brain zone gave great answers and I enjoyed talking with them as much as answering the questions.

I was thrilled to read so many students were really starting to think about science as more than just a subject at school and maybe considering it as a job in the future. I think it’s important to remember that science at school can be a lot like a food buffet at a party, you’ll try a lot of things and you might like it all or you might only like some things – take what you like and go with it! This idea helped me become a brain scientist even though I didn’t always think I could be one – if you’ve liked reading the answers all five of us have given during the competition, just imagine, you could be one of the scientists writing those answers one day  🙂

I’m keen to get onto the projects I talked about with the money from the competition, I hope to create some posters and videos of some of the most interesting things about the brain, including some of the questions asked here so they will be made from the things you found the most interesting!
