I always loved the alkali metals — we used to do experiments with them in high school (although only some of the less volatile ones). Rubidium and Caesium are amazingly powerful — take a look at http://youtu.be/m55kgyApYrY for an idea of how much of an effect they can have on a bath tub! If the movement is restricted, then any of the alkali metals can cause a reasonably large explosion!
